Rosalind Healy
Executive Director

Rosalind M. Healy was appointed by Camp Opportunity Board of Directors as Executive Director in January of 2021. Prior to this appointment she held a series of leadership positions at the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA), including Deputy Director, Chief Operating Officer, Interim Executive Director and Chief of Staff. Healy’s 30-plus year tenure with BOPA included the creative planning, fundraising, and successful production of more than twenty-five Baltimore events and programs each year, including but not limited to: Artscape, Baltimore Book Festival, Light City, Baltimore Farmers’ Market & Bazaar, Open Studio Tour, Free Fall Baltimore, Dr. Martin Luther King Parade, and firework celebrations. As the City liaison for Baltimore’s landmark events, Healy’s expertise was often called upon by organizations and companies to manage key committees such as NFL Season Kick-Off, Baltimore Running Festival, Star-Spangled Spectacular 2014, Sailabration 2012, OpSail 2000, Army/Navy Game, Oriole Park at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium Openings, Cal Ripken’s Streak Week, and Pope John Paul II’s Visit.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University.

Darlene Waldt, MSW/LCSW-C Therapist
Camp Director

From her start as a camp counselor to her long-term tenure as Camp Director, Darlene Waldt, MSW & LCSW-C, has been dedicated to Camp Opportunity for more than 25 years. Her experience as a Maryland State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Board Certified in Clinical Supervision/Certified Safety Care Trainer) and Maryland State Department of Education Certified School Social Worker continues to be an integral part of planning the experiences for our campers ages 8-11 through both residential summer camp and interim events throughout the year.

During COVID, Darlene designed and executed a week-long virtual camp experience as well as at-home activities based on Camp Opportunity’s teachings of self-esteem and problem solving skills.

Darlene holds a BA in Social Work from Frostburg State University and an MSM in Children and Families from University of Maryland Baltimore School of Social Work. Darlene and her husband are proud parents of three children.
