Camp Opportunity 2011

This year’s Camp Opportunity will take place from July 31 to August 6 at our facility near Westminster, MD.

Camp Opportunity is held at a campground located in Carroll County, Maryland (about 30 minutes from Baltimore). The grounds contain modern cabins with attached bathrooms, a dining hall, a swimming pool, basketball and volleyball courts, a fishing pond, numerous hiking trails, a playground, fire rings, and an archery range.

Camp Opportunity of Maryland provides a week long sleep-away summer camp for at risk children from the Baltimore metropolitan area. Each child receives his or her own counselor for the week at camp. The activities and classes at camp are designed to build self-esteem, teach problem solving skills, foster relationships with positive adult role models and improve the children’s ability to handle stress.
