Who are we?
Camp Opportunity of Maryland provides an overnight summer camp experience for Maryland children ages 8-11 who have experienced abuse and neglect. The one-to-one camper-to-counselor ratio and year-round programming are what make the Camp Opportunity experience so powerful.
REAL CAMP LIFE
The activities and classes at camp are designed to build self-esteem, teach problem solving skills, foster relationships with positive adult role models and improve the children’s ability to handle stress.
1-to-1 RATIO
Our 1-to-1 camper to counselor ratio is a core part of what makes Camp Opportunity so special. Each child receives their very own camp counselor for the week, leading to supportive, transformative relationships that can last long after camp is over.

The grounds contain modern cabins with attached bathrooms, a dining hall, a swimming pool, basketball and gaga courts, an arts barn, and hiking trails.
Traditional summer camp experience
We believe every child deserves the joy and adventure of a traditional summer camp. Our campers experience the magic of the great outdoors—hiking, roasting marshmallows around the fire, playing gaga, and more. From arts and crafts to campfire songs and games, our activities create a fun, supportive environment where kids can just be kids. While our camp is designed to support youth who have experienced abuse and neglect, we provide a classic camp experience filled with laughter, connection, and unforgettable memories.
