About Camp Opportunity
Camp Opportunity of Maryland provides a summer camp for children from the Baltimore area who have experienced abuse and/or neglect. Each child receives their own camp counselor for the week, leading to supportive, transformative relationships that can last long after camp is over.
The activities and classes at camp are designed to build self-esteem, teach problem solving skills, foster relationships with positive adult role models and improve the children’s ability to handle stress.
The grounds contain modern cabins with attached bathrooms, a dining hall, a swimming pool, basketball and volleyball courts, a fishing pond, hiking trails, a playground and an archery range.
