Each April, Camp Opportunity participates in Pinwheels for Prevention, a national campaign dedicated to raising awareness about child abuse prevention. This initiative uses the pinwheel as a symbol of hope, joy, and a bright future for all children. The pinwheel serves as a visual reminder that every child deserves a safe, happy, and healthy childhood. Throughout the month, organizations and advocates across the country come together to spark conversations, promote policies that protect children, and inspire communities to take action.
At Camp Opportunity, we go beyond raising awareness—we provide direct support to children who have experienced abuse and neglect. Through our residential summer camp and year-round programming, we create a safe, nurturing environment where children can build resilience, develop life skills, and experience the simple joys of childhood. By participating in Pinwheels for Prevention, we amplify our mission and advocate for the children we serve, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to heal and thrive.
